Commencement Will Find UAlbany Students Wearing Caps and Gowns Made from 100% Post-Consumer Recycled Plastic Bottles!

Fewer plastic bottles will be choking our landfills because for every UAlbany student walking at commencement, an average of 25 plastic bottles was used to manufacture their cap and gown.

In the latest effort to go green on campus, the new line of graduation wear – named GreenWeaver^® – is made of fabric spun from molten plastic pellets. With some 60 million plastic bottles going into U.S. landfills every day, University at Albany is helping to turn trash into keepsakes.

Your University at Albany Bookstore has everything you need for graduation. If you are unable to stop by the bookstore to pick up your cap and gown, you may order it here and have it delivered directly to your home. Shipping will be applied.
